Are you ready to embark on a journey towards healing and connecting with yourself, your children, and/or your family? Co-regulation is a fundamental skill needed to lay the foundation for building and maintaining healthy relationships. As a therapist, I have always understood the importance of self-regulation and co-regulation with others. However, it wasn't until I became a parent myself that I truly grasped the vital significance of co-regulation. I also realized how challenging it can be to self-regulate and maintain a regulated state while trying to regulate my children and my family as a whole. This realization led me to start CO-REGULATE TO GROW, in order to assist others on this journey, and offer parent and partner coaching that focuses on the co-regulation process.
As a parent, your child, regardless of their age, will need your help to co-regulate. As a partner and/or family member, co-regulation is a constant process. When going through a crisis or difficult times with a loved one, it can be emotionally draining and debilitating. Many people go through these challenges alone, struggling to seek assistance due to the intensity of their frustration, guilt, and in some cases, shame. When you add your own neurotype, trauma, or unresolved past experiences to the mix, the situation can feel lonely and hopeless. That's why I want to walk alongside you. Allow me to guide you and remind you of the immense power you possess within, and how capable you are of regulating yourself and co-regulating others.

I am a wife and mother of two. I am passionate about co-regulating to help grow yourself, your child, and your family. My daughter and son are 21 months apart. My daughter was born three months after my mom died in 2018, and my son was born during the height of Covid-19 shut-down in 2020. My husband and I married nine months before our daughter was born. Through these life experiences, as well as in my professional life, I have learned ever growing knowledge in co-regulation.
In the midst of these significant life events, I found myself in situations that demanded not only personal acceptance but also a profound need for co-regulation skills. Co-regulation, in essence, is the ability to manage one's emotional and psychological state while simultaneously helping others do the same. It's a crucial skill, especially in situations where emotions run high and stress levels can be overwhelming.
The passing of my mother, just before my daughter's birth, created a complex emotional landscape. Coping with grief while preparing for the arrival of a new life required a delicate balance of self-regulation and being attuned to the emotional needs of my family. It was a time when co-regulation was not only beneficial but essential for maintaining stability and nurturing a positive environment for my growing family.
The birth of my son during the Covid-19 shutdown presented unique challenges. The uncertainty and anxiety that surrounded the pandemic affected us all. Co-regulation became noticeably important as my husband and I navigated the stress of those times, ensuring that we not only managed our own emotions but also provided a sense of security and stability for our children. Needless to say, we struggled, and later discovered how our own neurotypes and our neurodiverse family played a role in our struggles.
Furthermore, our relatively short time as a married couple before becoming parents underscored the importance of co-regulation in our relationship. As new parents, we struggled to learn and lean on each other for support and understanding. Once we began to understand our own and our children's neurotypes we became more attuned to using our co-regulation skills to maintain a strong partnership while juggling the demands of parenthood.
In my professional life, these personal experiences have translated into a deeper understanding of the significance of understanding different neurotypes and co-regulation in various contexts. Whether working with colleagues, clients, or students, the ability to create a supportive and emotionally balanced environment is invaluable.
So, through these life experiences, I've come to appreciate the vital role of co-regulation in maintaining emotional well-being, fostering healthy relationships, and effectively navigating the complex terrain of life's challenges. It's a skill that continues to evolve and grow, providing a solid foundation for both my personal and professional journey.
I aim to provide individual, group, and video sessions to help aid growth in the relationship with self, child, family, and beyond. I believe that as each generation gains confidence in co-regulation, it could one day promote healing in the world.
